Mission Complete

Chapter A and Chapter B

Before you get too far into the Chapters labeled with Letters, let me explain that these chapters do not go next in the story. They will go probably much later, or at least in a chapter or two as soon as I figure out how to transition them the way I want. For now, they are being posted for comments and ideas on how to switch . . .I also have to write some stuff between Kali and Drake. . .as well as develop Heather and Josh's relationship a bit more. . .As you can see, I have my work cut out for me.

Chapter a
“Alright! Fire!” Commander Renata yelled as his troops lined up in their newest battle formation to take on the FECA manned battalion in front of them. Josh and Heather broke off to the outside and truned outward. They would have their backs protected by the whole group, and the whole group would be harder to break apart. The Federation leader, Rue D´Morte loomed in the back, using his men as a makeshift shield. Commander D´Morte’s tribune was barely visible in the darkened void of space. Only the sparks from damaged machines in front of him seemed to illuminate the black machine. A star sparkled, glistening off the machines, and giving off the only natural light as two teams of pilots and unmanned suits locked in an age-old battle of good versus evil. The Hellion’s eyes glinted with a red preternatural light just like the pilot. The Opiate’s pale green body shimmered and reflected the other mobile suits, as he vowed to keep the Lilith pilot out of trouble this time. He would not lose her again.

Josh turned to check on Heather just in time to see her exchange horrified glances with Levi. He watched as she tried to regain her icy mask to line for the next attack behind Kali. Taking her place in the back of their ‘v’ formation, Heather’s eyes widened in horror. The Dark Fire smiled with an evil grin, her face visible on their formation monitors, before leaving their formation and joining Rue behind enemy lines.

“That bitch!” Drake yelled. “She’s a traitor!” He tried not to sound hurt. He should have been without emotion, and had to return to that state. “Come on troops, let’s show her how we deal with spies!” Drake fell back, waiting to contend with D´Morte.

“Commander Renata, I presume.” Rue D´Morte spoke with a calm composure. “I want to thank you for taking care of my dear Kali for me.” He smiled as he leaned back in his command post. “I see your Lilith and the Miakoda are back to normal. I must say, the girl is quite good in bed. Screams a bit, but what can you do?” Commander D´Morte smirked as he drew his laser sword and began to spar with Renata.

“What?!” Josh yelled with Rue’s last words. He spun toward her. “Why that bastard! Heather, are you okay?”

“Yea Josh! It’s over! Worry about the battle!” Heather replied as she worked to destroy a lunar-manned doll, her back to Levi as they fought together. Heather closed her eyes tight against the memories that threatened to spill over in her tears. She could still feel the ice and fire in his kiss from when he ravaged her body, but she must stay focused.

Chapter b
“Lieutenant, huh? You’re of great use to me, Miss Kou. You’ve grown up so much and I’m glad to see you remained in the military. It’s just too bad you chose the wrong one.” Rue smiled as his eyes scanned the captive girl. Heather forced herself to remain unaffected by his scrutinizing look. She tilted her chin with disdain and he smirked, revealing two sharp incisors. A deep, dark laugh sounded at Heather’s sharp intake of breath.

“Who are you . . . what are you? I don’t know what you are talking about. I was born to be a fighter for the Colonies.” The Lilith pilot stated, her voice wavering slightly as she lifted her cuffed hands to her face in a gasp. “You can’t be human.” She shook her head in disbelief. D´Morte waved away his guards as he came from behind his massive desk and strode over to the now stiffened pilot. He reached up cold fingers and caressed her cheek. Heather clinched her jaw and fought back the urge to slap him.

“You’re right, my darling. I’m not human. You were born to be a colony fighter, but not a fighter for the colonies.” Rue whispered, his breath warm against her skin. She shut her eyes and flinched slightly. “You have been mine since your birth, and you were trained for the war, and now I’ve brought you to this base to claim you once again. I have let you do as you please for long enough.” With heightened ease, he attached his lips to her neck. Heather fought against him briefly before sinking to the ground. Rue dropped her body in a collapsed heap as he wiped his mouth. He called his guards back to him. “Put her with the other rebel, and make sure she lives.”

While most humans had not been around, or simply had not been born yet, Rue D’Morte could remember every detail of the farcical meeting that started it all. The President owed his life to D’Morte. He had been the one to initiate the battle, and without Rue’s silence, everything he had worked for in his life would disappear into the hands of the rebellious Earth forces in a single mortal breath. The meeting didn’t end with the Chancellor leaving. Instead, the war began.
